Now you get to use the grinder that you purchased. Apply black buffing compound to the buffing wheel per the instructions. Or if you don't read the instructions just take the buffing compound and press it against the wheel while the buffer is turned on. I start with the black compound to remove the scratches left by the Fine Disk used in the previous step.

As soon as you start buffing the aluminum you will start to see a noticable shine start. Almost like chrome but deeper. One thing to note is that you should let the buffing compound do the work there is no need to push really hard.

When you see that the scratches from the Fine disk are gone apply brown or white buffing compound to the wheel. These will give the aluminum a nice high gloss look. I prefer the brown bar that is made for aluminum and often skip the white bar stage. You can also apply the brown and then the white.

when you are happy with the buffing take your tooth brush and dip it into the mothers mag and aluminum polish. apply the mothers on the toothbrush wherever you have a residure left over from buffing. When you have all of the residue cleaned off apply a light coat of mothers to the aluminum with a soft cloth and buff to a nice shine with the cloth.

Thats all there is to it. The only thing left is sealing the aluminum. I have had really good luck with X-tream metal sealant. You can buy this from Jireh cycles.com.

Keep in mind that I usually spend a few hours on a peice of aluminum if not more. I did this piece in about 10 minutes for demonstration purposes. More time you spend the better it will turn out. go to the next page to see some finished pieces

X-tream Metal Sealant is not a regular polish. I think it works so well because it was formulated specifically for sealing non-painted metals. If you wish to buy any go to http://www.jirehcycles.com

The part number is 103-6

and the best thing is it only cost $7.36!!!
