My Favorite Motorcycle

This is a topic that I have one of the biggest problems with. Everyday I see guys that say things like "if it ain't a Harley it ain't shit" OR "if it ain't a Honda it ain't shit". What a bunch of crap. I've often found that most of the people that fall into this category either bought there bike with a credit card, or are to cheap to pay for the bike they want.

I can think of many times that I myself have been riding my chopper and been told. Ya know that would be a nice bike if it were a Harley. My opinion is it is either a nice bike or it is not. Then I ask the guy so what do you drive. I've had guys tell me "I don't own a bike". I'm done talking to them after that. I am always shocked that a person that doesn't even own a bike would have such a strong opinion. Thats like someone saying I've never eaten cake but chocolate is the best.

I also run into the guys that respond with " I've got a brand new Harley whatever" Then they proceed to show me there bone stock Harley sportster. I find it humorous that they think that should impress me. I especially love it when you ask them questions that they don't know but you do. For instance saying to them, wow that's a nice bike is it a twin cam or single? and they don't know… I love that.

Of course it is just as funny to watch a guy driving a Honda chop running down every Harley that they pass by. I talked to a guy that came to my house one day about Harleys…. Man it was the funniest shit I've ever witnessed. He drove his truck to my house because his bike was not running (happens to everyone). The funny part is he is COMPLETELY decked out in Harley gear but does not own a Harley. BUT…. Then he has the nerve to start running down all these guys he calls "RUBS" saying how they shouldn't be allowed to own a bike and that they don't give him the respect he deserves because he drives a Honda. Then he goes off on how he's sick and tired of seeing all of these 16-year-olds driving brand new crotch rockets around and not giving him any respect. I didn't pursue the conversation for long. It was a lost cause.

I just found the whole thing hilarious. First off if you drive a Honda but deck yourself head to toe in Harley labeled clothes your asking for some shit. Also no one is required to give you respect just because you own a bike. You earn respect; it is not something you are entitled to. Here is a prime case of a guy that picked on Harley's because he simply could not afford one of his own. You could almost see him turn a shade of green with envy every time he brought up the word.

Then there is the category most of my friends fall into. As long as everyone is having fun I don't care what you drive. You can ride right beside me with your Honda, Suzuki, Harley... hell I don't care. The only motorcycles I don't like are ones that have assholes on them.

As I said on the main page. I am a MOTORCYCLE ENTHUSIAST. I like them all. My favorites would have to be old Honda, Harley, and Triumph choppers. I have owned a few Honda choppers and LOVE THEM! But I will also own a Harley chopper. Now I'm not selling my Honda to buy it, but I think there's room in the garage for both. A triumph would look good next to them too….

But as far as a favorite bike…… I would say the 1969 to 1978 Honda SOHC choppers. But I wouldn't pick on someone for riding something different.
