The black bobber/chopper was a blast to build. I was in my garage one day looking at all of my left over parts and realized I had everything to build a chopper. The look i was trying for is a old bobber style bike with a twist. I wanted a bobber with a long front end. This is the finished product. Wel....... I get the feeling its not done though. One of my bro's off the hondachopper.com site bought the bike. I'm sure that he'll add all the extra touches to make the bike his own.
What can I say. WOW was this bike fun to build and fun to drive. I really like this bike because it is very simple yet has alot of really neat modifications that the average person doesn't notice.
Lets start with the frame mods. The front end is 10 over forks by frank. The frame was modified to a single backbone and reinforced. the front down tubes were stretched 4 inches. The rear seat post tubes were cut and lowered (ala kong style). I replaced the stock swing arm with a 1980 custom swing arm. This further lowers the back and gives it a much cleaner look.
I used a Solo seat that I had purchased from Cycle Recycle. It is brand new. I used a octagon oil tank from the copper chopper. The headlight is from a springer that I had laying around.
The Rear fender came off ond of my old project bikes that I bought and never got finished. One of my friends in town had a tailight that fit right in.
One of my favorite parts of the bike is the exhaust. it is a crossover 4 into 2 setup that looks REALLY nice in my opinion. I really wish I could have kept the exhaust. The tank is from a honda 450. The handle bars are high rise ape hangers.
